checklist challenge

You can't train a horse by thinking of it as a checklist. However, you can develop a greater appreciation of communicating, influencing and supporting your horse by working through one...especially this one that I have created.

Most people are struggling with their horse because they keep hitting conflict.

Conflict caused by the horse being confused, unmotivated, uncomfortable or not confident.

My Checklist of Exercises has two dimensions to it. Exercises that start simple and progressively get more complicated and an appreciation of the environment you expect your horse to perform.

Therefore, it appreciates that allowing the horse to get confident at understanding and navigating an exercise is important before making things more complicated. Plus, it allows you to appreciate that you need to prepare the horse for more challenging environments.

It allows you to gain an appreciation that thinking you can own a horse and just ride it once a week out on a trail ride is actually a high expectation and not a low expectation of them.

However, working through the checklist and building your skills and understanding of your horse sets you and them up to go out and enjoy those trail rides!

➡️So, what is the challenge?

The checklist contains 22 exercises, including 12 groundwork and 10 ridden activities. If you join the challenge, you become part of a community of people that focus on one exercise per week. Were we learn how to train the exercise, how to know when the horse is ready to progress and how to nurture your horse's ability to be able to perform in it in different situations and environments.

➡️How do I become part of it?

The challenges part of my membership society. The society is a lovely community I have created from the followers on social media. The cost of joining the membership is $19.95 (AU) per month. Once you join the membership society, you can join the Facebook group called CWCH Society Members Group which is where the challenge runs! However, being involved in challenges is just one of the benefits of being a member ❤️

➡️What happens in the Challenge?

Once you join the membership society, each week a video demonstrating each exercise is released. You then watch the video, practice with your horse. If you have any questions or struggles with your horse you can ask questions on the Facebook Group CWCH Society Members Group and Shelley will help you. Then you can post a short video of you and your horse performing the exercise for support and feedback. It is not a requirement that you put up a video but you will see how supportive everyone is on the group cheering you on!
