MAKING HORSES FEEL BETTER

You cannot judge how a horse feels by staring at it as it stands still on the end of the lead rope. However, if you ask it to do something it will tell you a lot! It will tell you what it knows and how it FEELS.

This beautiful horse demonstrates this in spectacular fashion. This horse had been doing ground work in the past. She would stand still fine, but ask her to send off and she would instantly be triggered to become threatening and defensive. She also demonstrates how incredibly quick a horse can feel better and transform from defensive and negative to a horse that understand what you are asking them to do and does it calmly and willingly.

How did I do this? I focused on teaching her two things....what behaviour I expected and what behaviour was not ok. It was simple, not complicated.
