LOOK UP AND RIDE SOMEWHERE

Try this next time you ride.

Look up and ride somewhere with all your focus and intention.

Intention is like a force and horse's get drawn into it and follow it.

So many people are not actively or intentionally riding anywhere.

Instead they are:

1. Focused on what might upset their horse - which just communicates to the horse that you are focused on a threat and they react accordingly.

2. Focused on the horse's head and correcting the horse and creating conflict with the horse. This just creates tension in the horse as they never get to feel successful.

3. Focused on nothing and just have a head full of a hundred thoughts. This just leaves the horse lost with little to follow...and horses love to follow.

Look up and ride somewhere, picking a point and riding with all your intention is one of the most common things that comes out of my mouth when I coach.

This simple thing changes riders and horses.

But....if you struggle to look up and ride somewhere or your horse falls apart it means you have some holes in your ability to trust your horse, feel competent or your horse's foundation.

It means you have some work to do and things to learn.

Give it a go.
