DO YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR HORSE?

How well do you understand your horse?

Every horse has an individual capacity to process the environment.

They have strengths and weaknesses.

Some can absorb the environment easily, while others will bounce off the smallest distractions and change.

Some can process many things at once, others need one thing at a time.

Some need movement to help regulate and process stress. Others need a bit of time to take an environment in and observe before they can focus.

You can learn to work with their individual capacities when you understand that our role is not just to train them but to coach them and nurture them psychologically.

But it starts with understanding and accepting the individual. Learning what we need to learn. Changing what we need to change.

Understanding leads to strategy and strategy can reduce conflict and struggle.

Be open to understanding your horse at a deeper level. Get curious because if there is struggle and conflict, you might be missing something you need to know in order to see the individual that is your horse more clearly.
